Compositing Artist - VFX & Animation

Artisan Media Solutions is looking for a Compositing Artist in Chennai to handle the visual integration of 2D and 3D scenes for animated films and VFX projects. The role focuses on delivering high-quality numerical compositing throughout the production pipeline while adhering to the technical and artistic vision of the project.

Core Responsibilities:

• Combine rendered computer animation, visual effects, graphics, and static plates to construct the final image.
• Ensure seamless integration of elements by creating mattes, matching color levels, adding grain or motion blur, and generating realistic shadows.
• Collaborate with FX and Lighting Artists to establish compositing strategies and achieve visual balance.
• Apply cinematography principles, including depth of field, density, and filter usage.
• Light characters and environments across various settings (interior, exterior, time of day).
• Integrate live-action footage, blue/green screen elements, and CGI sources to meet feature film visual effects standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and cross-functional departments to ensure shots meet rendering requirements.

Candidate Requirements:

• Prior experience in VFX, preferably within Hollywood productions.
• Proficiency in Nuke and Photoshop; familiarity with Silhouette and tracking software is a strong advantage.
• Understanding of multi-pass 3D lighting workflows and linear workflow principles.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, an acute creative eye, and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines, manage productivity quotas, and work efficiently without constant supervision.
• Flexibility to work in rotating morning and evening shifts.
