Project Associate – I (CSIR-CSMCRI)

CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute is inviting applications for the temporary post of Project Associate – I under the CSIR-FTT project titled Microalgal based Sustainable Aviation Fuel through Biorefinery Model. The role is initially for one year and involves working on microalgal mass cultivation, process optimization, and oil extraction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimize upstream cultivation conditions to enhance microalgal biomass and lipid yields.
• Execute lab-scale and pilot-scale oil extraction from microalgal biomass.
• Develop and demonstrate bioprocesses and nutraceutical formulations.
• Manage microalgal mass cultivation processes and scale-up routines.

Educational Qualifications:

• M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Botany from a recognized university. OR
• B.E. / B.Tech in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Fermentation Technology, Bioprocess Engineering, or Industrial Biotechnology.

Desirable Experience:

• Prior research background in microalgal mass cultivation or biomass valorisation.
• Hands-on experience with microbial fermentation techniques.

Remuneration & Age Limit:

• Rs. 31,000/- + HRA per month for CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET or GATE qualified candidates (including national-level exams by Central Government departments).
• Rs. 25,000/- + HRA per month for non-NET/GATE candidates.
• Upper Age Limit: 35 years (relaxations applicable as per CSIR/GoI norms).
